What would I be doing?
Our excellent graduate programme and APC support aims to provide you with the best start and progression opportunities in your professional career to become a Chartered Planner. To support our on-going growth, we are looking to recruit a graduate planner to join our team in Ashby de la Zouch.
Our team of Planning Consultants, who are either MRTPI Chartered Town Planners or working towards, liaise closely with our market experts across the firm, to ensure that the advice we give combines professional planning expertise with a deep understanding of regional and national trends, as well as local market sensitivities.
You will focus on providing a bespoke service to ensure that every client receives a tailored plan which combines expert advice with robust imaginative strategies, designed to realise their specific objectives. You will support team members in the preparation, submission, and management of planning applications including preparing reports relating to a variety of projects across various sectors from agriculture, to commercial developments, and from residential projects to utilities and infrastructure.
Building strong working relationships and project managing other professionals, such as architects, landscape, highways, drainage, and ecology consultants will be paramount to being a successful planner to deliver your objectives.
What do I need to have to apply?
We are more than happy to teach you all the technical skills you need, it is your personal attributes and commitment to the role that is key. Ideally, you will:
* Be a student from a planning related RTPI accredited degree (preferable)
* Be committed to continuing your studies in order to become chartered with RTPI
* Have a passion and interest in the built and/or natural environment
* Have excellent people and communication skills - both verbal and written;
* Have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to identify and solve problems;
* Adopt a consultative approach, able to identify and solve problems;
* Have the ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at any one time, working in a way that is highly agile and responsive to rapidly changing client and site requirements
* Be committed to continuing your professional development in order to become chartered with the RICS
* Have access to transport, or be willing to do so by the time you start work, as you will often be required to travel to out of town client sites;
* Enjoy going out and about in all weathers, travelling across the region or further afield and working outside of the normal 9-5 when required.
What’s in it for me?
Salary: £27,000 per annum for graduates with a property related degree accredited by the RTPI. Plus full support towards becoming a Chartered Planner (RTPI).
We will consider non-cognate applicants, with a starting salary of £23,810, PLUS sponsorship for a relevant RTPI accredited Masters level degree, and support towards becoming a Chartered Planner.
