Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others.
This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

The Role
Main Purpose of Position
To coordinate safe and efficient deployment of workforce to fulfil our CA02 obligations.
Key Objectives
1. Lead a team of Construction Managers and supervisors in order to deliver project objectives to the satisfaction of key stakeholders. Ensure competent resources are assigned to project tasks.
2. Maintain and develop a competent workforce, ensuring actual and desired training needs are correctly addressed.
3. In line with NSG's core values, ensure a collaborative approach is maintained and developed with the Principal Contractor and actively contribute to the bi-weekly learning workshops led by AWE Construction ESH.
4. Ensure compliance with NSG and AWE process, with due cognisance of the Construction Phase Plan. Prepare and supervise the monitoring of short- and medium-term programmes to achieve key dates identified within the agreed programme.
5. Supervise the completion of Visual Management Boards to inform our Managers, Supervisors, Contractors, PMs, and Clients of our current and future deployment, as well as ensuring any issues are appropriately escalated. Issue Status Report to the NSG Head of Construction on a weekly basis.
6. Ensure NSG are fully compliant with our statutory obligations.
7. Assist in the deconfliction of site activities with Project Managers.
8. Liaise with the NSG Pre-construction Manager on a weekly basis to understand future resource demands and deploy resources as necessary to satisfy.
9. Understand our various 'Project Scopes,' and notify our Commercial Department to ensure any deviation from our contracted works are covered commercially.
10. Ensure overtime opportunities are shared among the workforce.

Qualifications
* NVQ L6 or Degree in appropriate discipline - Essential
* Black or White CSCS Card - Essential
* Membership of appropriate technical/professional body - Desirable
* IOSH Managing Safety in Construction/SMSTS or equivalent - Desirable (Relevant Training will be provided)
Experience & Knowledge
* Well organised with the ability to work to timescales and demonstrate attention to detail - Essential
* Routine recording and reporting of information both verbal and numerical - Essential
* Experience of managing teams in a construction environment (5 years) - Essential
