What you will be doing
ReNew is a community Drug and Alcohol service in Hull, and The Forward Trust delivers a part of this service, mainly focusing on group work, therapeutic and psycho-social interventions, and family work, with group work being a main focus of this role. As part of the traineeship, you will be shadowing a member of the team and will be given guidance and support working through the various aspects of the role. The team member you will be shadowing will help ensure you are receiving the training and development needed to become competent in the role. You will receive regular reviews to ensure that you stay on track to successfully complete the traineeship. Part of your time on the traineeship will be spent working, gaining practical experience, and studying towards achieving the qualification that has been assigned (subject to criteria).
Trainees will receive specific training, mentoring, and supervision which will enable them to develop skills in:
1. Facilitating and co-facilitating in structured group work.
2. Completing individual and group assessments.
3. Delivering health interventions, such as screening for BBV's, issuing Naloxone, and Drug Testing.
4. Building links with local agencies beneficial to Forward Trust service users, including employment agencies, health and wellbeing providers, and local recovery organisations.
5. Supporting with the administration, including client notation, understanding of client systems, and data collection.
6. Developing skills in the collection and recording of data for audit, research, and reporting purposes.
7. Contributing to the through care needs of service users, supporting them in the development of recovery plans which are appropriate to their needs.
8. Taking on other reasonable tasks and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by Line Management.
What we are looking for
1. If in recovery from addiction - over 2 years abstinence from all substances and a commitment to maintaining recovery.
2. An understanding of the issues faced by vulnerable adults in recovery built through personal or professional experience.
3. Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of equal opportunity and client confidentiality.
4. Able to manage own workload effectively to meet deadlines and targets.
5. An ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.
