Job summary As a Ward Clerk you would be expected to provide and maintain efficient and effective administrative support to the Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse and multidisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of a consistently high standard of patient care as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will need to work effectively to ensure case notes, investigations, X-rays and results are available for new admissions, ward rounds and multi-disciplinary team meetings and that patient notes and information are maintained following departmental guidelines and compliance with legislation (Caldicott Guidelines etc). The post holder will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills to facilitate seamless patient flow by liaising with other wards and departments within the Trust; also external bodies such as Ambulance Service and other care providers, in addition to welcoming visitors to the department, which can be a busy and overwhelming environment.
