ABOUT THE ROLE:
Accountable for the successful delivery of key strategic platforms across the Royal Mail estate. Translate business strategy and demand into initiatives and roadmaps to deliver business value, and communicate to RM stakeholders.
Manage delivery partners for the strategic platforms, ensuring quality of delivery and stable releases of change. Ensure that critical systems are performant and available, providing 3rd line support to critical incidents.
Champion agile ways of working, building strong internal capability and ensuring that multiple external delivery partners deliver to consistent ways of working to achieve stable delivery and change.
Key Accountabilities:
* Own and lead delivery of the core strategic platforms – currently PDA, eBiz (website), BIG (integration) and EPS (events).
* Lead and develop a team of platform owners, supporting them and ensuring effective delivery of platform development and change activities across all RM platforms.
* Prioritise Technology Platform initiatives and funding based on strategic impact analysis and resource availability.
* Ensure RM are not reliant on single individuals' knowledge, with adequate succession plans in place.
* Deliver high-quality, timely outputs and inputs into cross-tech reporting and governance processes, including financial and capacity planning.
* Own platform team funding allocated in ABRs, achieving value for money and significant ROI across all Platforms.
* Advise RM TEC executive team on strategic roadmap and technical decisions as a functional expert.
* Collaborate with Build, Business Services, and other Tech Platforms to ensure cross-Tech Platforms and EP architectural excellence.
* Partner with Cyber/Run to manage persistently funded teams and continuously optimise their capacity, utilisation and effectiveness.
