We are looking for a customer service orientated security officer to join our busy security team. The Longleat security team provides a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, and House collection 24 hours a day, with a focus on providing a warm welcome to guests whilst helping to deter crime and de-escalate provide support to operational colleagues out on site around our busy park. Key duties : Helping us to provide a safe and secure environment for the Thynn family and all staff and guest onsite, your key duties and responsibilities will include: Liaising with and supporting colleagues from different business functions across the Estate Using your excellent communication skills to help customers and colleagues - dealing with all concerns and questions to the highest possible standards, in line with Longleat's core values and ethos Positively supporting the company’s growing corporate identity; liaising with other departments in delivering functions and events and providing out of hours security for these as directed Meeting and exceeding the Company’s customer service charter Being an enthusiastic and dedicated member of a supportive team that values each individual Security duties include but are not limited to: Operating CCTV cameras and associated equipment, alarms, road barriers and House entry in compliance with legislation, ensuring usage is within legislative guidelines Maintaining logs of all visitors and incidents Overseeing contractor movement throughout the estate Ensuring a quick response to queries and assisting with lost persons and lost property Minimising potential security threats through patrolling Using your initiative to develop the role during quieter times Carrying out pre-defined routines; taking personal ownership and being accountable Forging positive relationships with members of other teams Responding to alarm situations in a timely manner Highlighting risks and sharing information with relevant persons Essential requirements for the role: Proven security industry experience A full valid UK, clean, driving licence Availability and enthusiasm for working 12-hour shifts with a variable pattern of day and night work. There may be occasional short notice shift changes Highly desirable: SIA licence Excellent customer service and communication skills Discreet and empathetic approach The ability to adapt to every scenario - no two days are the same at Longleat Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel Physically fit to meet the demands of the role Great team working ethos - embracing a positive and collaborative approach within the team, valuing others' contributions Adept at dealing with high-pressure situations while remaining diligent in quieter periods A little about us At Longleat we offer a day out like no other, our guests are invited to step into the Thynn family home where they will find the finest example of Elizabethan Architecture.
