Rate Of Pay Will Be Dependant On Experience
Our Swimming Teachers are vital to the delivery of the Swim School and School Swimming programmes at the centres. The lesson programmes are important from both a community engagement perspective and also for the contribution to the financial viability of the centres, enabling us to offer support to other programming activities.
As a Swimming Teacher, it will be your responsibility to plan and deliver fun, engaging and educational lessons following our scheme of work and guidance from relevant National Governing Bodies. You will also help with routine checks, housekeeping standards, and customer safety, especially the class members in your charge during lessons.
Swimming Teacher Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
1. Delivering an excellent quality teaching service.
2. Maintaining the standards of the Swim School brand in accordance with the Swim School procedures.
3. Organising, planning, executing, and evaluating a structured programme using the ASA Learn to Swim Pathway.
4. Ensuring that the Swim School records (currently Learn2) are updated appropriately with attendance and assessment data.
5. Ensuring all activities are FUN and help promote a successful and caring image of the Swim School and the Company.
6. Supporting any other swimming-related activity as deemed necessary to provide a quality development programme.
7. Taking opportunities to update and improve technical knowledge through continuing professional development and staff training.
8. Identifying suitable pupils for exit routes to performance and excellence pathways.
9. Ensuring a high standard of customer care is achieved at all times, adopting a warm and welcoming manner which encourages communication with customers.
10. Being aware of your responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring health & safety procedures are fully met, and maintaining a safe teaching environment for your pupils and other centre users/team members.
11. Having a full awareness of the PSOP.
12. Understanding and being fully conversant with the Emergency Evacuation Procedure for the building as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
13. Completing other reasonable tasks as requested by the management team.
14. Attending all team meetings and training events scheduled.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will require an Enhanced DBS check and a check of the Adults & Childrens' Barred Lists before appointment can be confirmed.
