An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our enthusiastic team on Ward 3 (Surgical Day Case Unit). The patient centred team focus on safely admitting all surgical elective patients and recovering patient's postoperatively, leading up to their discharge home. We cover a variety of surgical specialities including ENT, breast, urology, colorectal, gynaecology, general surgery, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology and pain. As a department our nursing team deliver high standards of care, we are looking for a conscientious, reliable and energetic person to join our team.
We are recruiting to a 37.5 hour post, which involves working a rota pattern across 7 days Monday - Sunday.
Main duties of the job
To admit patients for surgery and deliver pre and post op nursing care followed by effective discharge planning for a wide range of nursing services. You will work alongside a team of experienced day case nurses and clinicians who aim to deliver a safe and effective, patient-focused service. Under the supervision of the Ward Leaders, the nurse is responsible for the provision, organisation and direction of nursing care of the patients in his/her care. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that a safe, and high standard of care is provided to all patients.

11. In conjunction with senior nursing staff and specialist nurses participate in the setting/monitoring and evaluation of standards of care to patients.
12. To communicate effectively with all members of multi-disciplinary team regarding patient care.
13. To assist with the investigation and timely resolution of complaints and PALS enquiries.
