Beddoe Court are seeking a Senior Housekeeper to work at our stunning location in Leamington Spa. Beddoe Court is a nursing home caring for residents suffering with long and enduring illnesses. Our Housekeeping team are no exception and play a vital role in ensuring the home is clean and safe and that our residents are comfortable in their environment and well looked after. You will display natural leadership skills to ensure the efficient running of the housekeeping team and be comfortable inducting and training new members of staff ensuring the Housekeeping Policies and Procedures are adhered to and prepared to make comment on making improvements to the policies and procedures. You will be naturally caring and able to communicate well with patients, clients, relatives and carers on non-clinical matters. You must be flexible and pragmatic in approach and respond to an emergency, should one arise in a calm manner ensuring a safe and positive outcome. As a member of the Senior team, you will be comfortable being a key holder and happy to open and close the building when required and setting the alarms. You will have proven experience in carrying out a similar role and whilst not essential, it would be desirable if you have previously worked in a care setting with an understanding of the strict guidelines we adhere to, experience in food handling and preparation and manual handling. You will be willing to undertake training work towards a qualification to fulfil the role, eg diploma level 2 (NVQ) relevant to the post, BICS (British Institute of Cleaning Science). As a Senior Housekeeper you will be expected to follow out the following tasks: Support the supervisor on a day-to-day basis Support the induction and training of new staff To implement and maintain cleaning schedules and organise deep cleans when required Monitoring and maintaining stock levels and recording appropriately Take part in cleanliness audits and follow up action as required Have a broad understanding of cleaning techniques and equipment Able to work safely with cleaning products and chemicals Take a personal duty of care for all equipment that is used on a day-to-day basis as part of the role Report any misuse of, or faulty equipment to the appropriate person Responsible for promoting a positive work culture.
