Contact Supervision and Short Respite Support Worker Role
Location: Warrington
Salary: £15-£18 dependent upon shift length
Hours: Varying shift lengths, from 1 hour to 4 hours.
About the Role:
The role entails contact supervision or providing short respite services. For the supervision aspect, this involves supervising contact between children and their extended family network where such supervision is deemed essential by the courts to protect the child from ongoing substantial harm or risks. You will provide formal written evidential reports to guardians, social workers, managers, and the courts to inform decision-making on the individual child's future care arrangements. You will ensure that children are protected during supervised contact sessions, intervening where required and facilitating contacts that safeguard the child from inappropriate behaviour.
In terms of respite, this will involve taking the child out into the community or providing respite within the home environment to allow carers a break from day-to-day care. This will include supporting the young person in activities and ensuring their basic needs are met.
