Salary: £16.10 PAYE P/H (Inclusive of Holiday Pay) | £18.52 LTD Umbrella Per Hour

We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join a dynamic team within a respected local authority. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the procurement function, ensuring compliance with public sector regulations and helping deliver value for money across key contracts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support procurement activities across the council in accordance with regulations and internal policies
2. Assist with the preparation and evaluation of tenders and quotations
3. Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring contract compliance
4. Provide advice and guidance to internal departments regarding procurement best practice
5. Maintain records of contracts and procurement processes for audit and transparency
6. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and opportunities
7. Contribute to ongoing process improvements and procurement strategy development
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably in the public sector
2. Proficient in using procurement or financial management systems
3. Strong understanding of UK procurement regulations and frameworks
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
5. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
