The Role:
Help facilitate housing placements by working with private landlords and tenants to ensure a smooth transition into rental properties.
Provide ongoing support to families, particularly Afghan and Ukrainian refugees, to help them maintain their tenancies and address any issues that arise.
Work alongside the Homelessness Prevention and Temporary Accommodation teams to reduce rough sleeping and assist ex-offenders and former rough sleepers in securing stable housing.
Carry out property inspections to ensure that rental units meet council standards.
Offer advice on welfare benefits, rent payments, and tenant's rights to ensure successful tenancy continuation.
Monitor rent payments and assist in recovering arrears from both current and previous tenants.The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience in a customer-facing role, particularly in the housing sector.
Solid knowledge of housing laws, such as the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Landlord and Tenant Law.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively manage complex situations.
Capable of assessing tenant affordability, conducting property inspections, and providing support to vulnerable tenants facing tenancy challenges.
A valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is a plus.
