We have a great opportunity at North Street Medical Care for someone who has at least one year experience in a GP surgery. Clinical coding knowledge is an advantage.
The position is for 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm or 8 am - 4 pm.
You would be part of an excellent team and be responsible for the coding of relevant information into the patients' electronic healthcare records on EMIS Web clinical system, adhering to the practice coding policy. In addition, the post-holder will also support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the practice.
Main duties of the job
1. Accurately read-coding data on EMIS Web into the patient record.
2. Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions.
3. Input and extract data as required to support practice reports.
4. File and store records as required.
5. Photocopy documentation as required.
6. Action all incoming faxes, emails and mail in a timely manner.
7. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' healthcare records.
8. Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary.
9. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately.
10. Carry out system searches as requested.
11. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
12. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested.

NSMC is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, and well-organised clinical coder to join our established team of clinical coders and scanners. Knowledge of EMIS Web clinical system is desirable but not essential and training will be provided. Travel may be a requirement of this role between two practice sites and to attend meetings, training, etc.

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
* GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above) or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
Experience
