The Payroll Specialist is responsible for coordinating all payroll and benefits processes for the EMEA region, including hosted and/or corporate employees. We are looking for a payroll professional who will handle payroll and benefits-related duties.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and implement relevant policies and procedures to streamline payroll processes.
2. Organize and prioritize workloads to achieve an accurate payroll run within strict deadlines.
3. Liaise with Finance and HR departments to agree on monthly payroll timetables and manage the payment calendar.
4. Prepare and submit necessary paperwork for tax deductions and benefits.
5. Control and execute payments related to employees and suppliers.
6. Analyze compensation-related data including wages and bonuses.
7. Manage benefit costs and relationships with HR vendors.
8. Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy.
9. Prepare and process overtime and shift reports to payroll systems.
10. Accurately calculate payroll entries, including pro rata pay and holiday pay.
11. Collate and process payroll change correspondence to the agreed payroll schedule.
12. Verify monthly payroll changes for accuracy and compliance.
13. Communicate with external agencies regarding earnings and statutory submissions.
14. Create, review, and upload payslips online.
15. Distribute forms such as P45, P60, and P11d.
16. Obtain and verify direct debit banking information from employees.
17. Maintain accuracy of information across different systems.
18. Develop relationships with employees, answering queries related to payslips, benefits, and company policies.
19. Support and participate in projects related to payroll, benefits, and HR.
Desired Skills and Experience
1. Proven experience in a similar role is essential.
2. Expert in using payroll systems (e.g., Sage, ADP, SuccessFactors).
3. Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
4. Knowledge of Kronos time and attendance system (desirable but not essential).
5. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
6. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
7. Flexible, hands-on approach to working as part of a team or individually.
8. Ability to work effectively with different departments.
