Field Service Technician – IT/ EPOS – London – Bow E3 based
Centrex Computing Services Ltd are looking for a reliable, adaptable, and enthusiastic Field Service Technician due to the continued growth of our operation, who thrives on a challenge. Some previous Printer, IT repair, Copier, or very similar experience is preferred, albeit not essential. A full driving license enabling you to drive a full-sized transit van (manual) or similar is an essential requirement. This role is subject to a smart casual dress code.
For security clearance purposes, the applicant must have lived in the UK for a minimum of the last 12 continuous months.
Centrex Services Ltd specialise in Printer, IT, EPOS (Electronic Point Of Sale), and similar IT-related repairs, supporting the Retail, Hospitality, and Banking sectors. While experience in any of these fields would be desirable, it is not essential as full training will be provided along with detailed scripting and support.
Centrex’s policy is to offer long-term salaried career opportunities and NOT short-term contracts, with this opportunity being such a long-term offering.
Essentially, you must possess good communication skills, geographical knowledge, team working skills, and an excellent customer service manner, as you will be required to visit our customers' sites on a daily basis, which are both business and home-based.
Your daily tasks will vary from a simple delivery to a full replacement hardware task or even a software load. No two days are ever the same, so adaptability is essential.
Although primarily home-based, your normal collection depot location will be as stated above. You will be expected, upon request, to cover surrounding areas and neighbouring depots should the need arise, as we do not operate to fixed areas.
You will be provided with a vehicle, fuel card, PDA, mobile phone, netbook, appropriate tooling, and any other equipment required to enable you to complete your daily duties. Additionally, full training will be provided.
While the nature of our business can make for some demanding high call volume days, each day will be different and full of new challenges, so this post is not for someone who likes a fixed routine. Equally, there are days when just a couple of jobs need doing.
We are a seven-day-a-week business, so the position will be subject to shift patterns which will include weekend cover on a rota basis. A standard shift pattern operates on a five days on, two days off basis, normally covering 40 hours per week.
Very occasionally, we offer a four days on, four days off shift pattern covering 48 hours per week (at an enhanced starting salary); however, shift patterns are always dictated by the demands and requirements of the business.
Overtime will be paid for any additional hours over those contracted for each week, and all positions are subject to 28 days annual holiday (pro rata).
