We are looking for a number of electrically/electronics biased Technicians to work at our Locomotive Maintenance Depot in the picturesque region of Shepton Mallet to provide solutions to our electrical maintenance issues and PPM.
As a Maintenance and Repair Technician, you will bring experience and/or transferable skills from previous employment, such as Agriculture, Automotive/HGV wiring, Armed Forces, Aerospace/Avionics, etc., and put them to good use through on-the-job training and mentoring. We are happy to consider Dual Skilled Technicians for this role.
Working as part of a small, highly skilled team, you will be able to demonstrate confidence and a professional attitude through fault finding, diagnosis, and rectification within a large-scale electrical system using relevant tools and equipment provided, helping to keep this busy Locomotive fleet fully serviceable and safe.
The team operates a shift pattern based on a 6-week cycle of earlies, lates, and nights. Please note there is only one 5-night pattern in the rotation of 6 weeks.
Successful candidates will have the pleasure of joining a European Leader in the Rail Freight Market and will enjoy a salary in excess of £44k per annum, plus a skills bonus where each successful module rewards with a £1,500.00 per annum increase in earnings, plus an excellent benefits package which includes one of the best Pension Plans any Employer is offering within the UK.
Interested parties should:
1. Hold an NVQ Level 3 in a Technical subject
2. Be confident in passing a basic medical and drug & alcohol test
3. Pass a basic online CRB check
4. To support fatigue compliance, you should live no more than a 55-minute commute away from BA4 4RA
