An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Halton CAMHS team, which provides child and adolescent mental health services. The post holder will support the mental health of children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Learning Disability (LD).
Job Description
The specialist practitioner will lead multi-agency plans to support children and young people. This includes delivering therapeutic interventions, completing safety plans, and developing local pathways of care.
The post holder will work closely with partner organizations, such as healthcare providers, education institutions, and third-sector organizations, to ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
Responsibilities
1. Provide highly specialized clinical advice and support to children, families, and carers.
2. Deliver therapeutic interventions to meet the needs of children and young people.
3. Develop and implement management and treatment plans.
4. Work collaboratively with other services and stakeholders to provide high-quality care.
5. Participate in the development of caseload management across the mental health and health economy.
6. Provide leadership and mentoring to staff developing into a caseload management role.
7. Act as an advocate and champion for children and families in various forums and professional groups.
8. Implement plans for the team, including rotas and schedules/working patterns.
9. Practice autonomously and demonstrate evidence-based clinical decision-making.
Person Specification
Training and Qualifications
1. Core professional qualification in registered nurse, social work, or occupational therapy.
2. Masters or equivalent level of experience.
3. Up-to-date Professional Registration (to be maintained).
4. Qualification in clinical supervision.
Experience
1. Experience of specialist mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and young people with mental health problems and their families.
2. Highly skilled in communicating complex information to clients, their families, carers, and professional colleagues.
3. Experience of delivering teaching, training, and supervision.
4. Experience in consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
5. Experience of working with diverse patient groups, including those with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
Knowledge and Skills
1. Advanced knowledge and skills in approaches to meet the needs of different patients and settings.
2. Advanced level of knowledge of the mental health needs of children and adolescents.
3. Experience in providing complex risk assessments.
4. Ability to work within a culturally diverse community and in various contexts.
