Responsibilities
1. Leading the Technical and production teams and working closely with creative teams to ensure the safe and smooth delivery of performances and events within theatre and film.
2. Responsibility for technical management of screenings, events, private hires, performances, rehearsals, and workshops.
3. Work with the Interim CEO to ensure the timely and safe maintenance, procurement, and replacement of all technical equipment.
4. Managing negotiations on technical riders with touring venues and companies (including non-theatre venues) with support.
5. Delivering technical aspects of the delivery of access provision for all art forms.
6. As required, manage the engagement of all sub-contractors required for all elements of the performance, rehearsals, and technical aspects of the project.
People Management
1. Managing the Technical Team, including proactive management of team delivery, appraisals, and ongoing support and development.
2. Contributing to programme planning meetings as required.
3. Manage freelance contracts and ensure the correct finance and HR processes are adhered to.
4. Working with the Finance Director on the management of technical and production budgets controlling financial risk.
5. Working with the Finance Director to manage and reconcile the annual costs of the Technical Department.
6. Work to manage risk, workloads, and maintain communication with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers as required.
Health and Safety
1. To assume responsibility for the Health and Safety of performances, rehearsals, workshops, and technical and production areas of the building, ensuring standards of compliance are maintained throughout and accurate records are kept.
2. Oversee risk assessments for all productions in collaboration with the Production Manager.
3. Ensuring all required documentation is in place including appropriate risk assessments.
