Office Attendance- Our roles are hybrid, however you should be able to travel to our Edinburgh office, 2-3 days per week for this position.

We’re looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Protect Team in Insurance and Money Services. You’ll be involved in setting business targets and ensure they are delivered in line with plan.To do this you will co-ordinate a cross-functional team from across a range of business disciplines Marketing, Pricing) to develop and deliver a plan of activities and initiatives.You’ll be responsible for forecasting as well as analysing sales & trading data and reporting on trends and a range of performance metrics.
Using your effective communication skills, you’ll ensure your partners are professionally managed, actions and issues are promptly resolved, governance is adhered to, and relevant opportunities are being discussed and driven forward.
What you’ll be doing
1. Interpreting commercial results and providing insights and recommendations on commercial trends. Helping managers make effective decisions based on data, and ensuring they are clear on the implications.
2. Build commercial models to forecast performance against budgets, reporting variances to more senior colleagues and making recommendations based on the data.
3. Input to the development of pricing decisions based on customer and market insight as well as current sales and performance data.
4. Contributing information to business cases to quantify costs, justify project investment, and identify the return on investment.
5. Monitoring all elements and aspects of a product life cycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing.
6. Identifying, within the team, instances of non-compliance with the organisation's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these and escalating issues as appropriate.
7. Maintaining day-to-day contact with business-critical suppliers and responding to complex incidents with suppliers/services to analyse performance and provide feedback on key supplier management indicators.
8. Taking ownership of specific workstreams or project/product plans, ensuring that all activities are identified and appropriately organised to deliver product objectives.
We need you to have
9. Commercial Acumen. The ability to interpret commercial results and apply understanding of the business environment and objectives (trading) to develop solutions with minimal supervision.
10. Proven MS Excel skills to create relevant and effective reports using various data sources, analysing data trends to help guide decision making. Confidence with making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
11. Project Cost and Budget Management. Competence in estimating and managing the effort and finances required to complete work within budget.
12. Market Research and Analysis. Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance Tesco Travel Insurance goals. Using research and analysis to develop a comprehensive understanding of market conditions in order to facilitate the success of our brand, products and services.
