Octopus Energy is seeking an Energy Engineer based in Greater Manchester, with flexibility for remote work. The role involves designing and overseeing the integration of the KrakenFlex system on green energy assets, assessing technical feasibility, and supporting project management. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in the energy industry. Octopus Energy values inclusivity and encourages diverse applicants.

What you'll do:
1. Design, develop and oversee the technical integration and onboarding of the KrakenFlex system on green energy assets, which can range from transmission connected battery and solar plants to smaller distributed energy resources.
2. Assess the technical feasibility of integrations with the support of in-house specialists (Software Developers, Commissioning and Controls Engineers) as well as external partners and suppliers.
3. Give technical presentations to stakeholders.
4. Develop as a technical SME supporting internal teams on Electrical/Power Systems related discussions and issues.
5. Undertake site visits where required to better understand site technical requirements.
6. Attend regular project meetings to support the Project Manager with ongoing integration projects.
7. Support exploration into new energy markets and regions.
What you'll need:
1. Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field.
2. Experience of working in the Energy Industry (Consultancy, DNO, TNO/TSO, OEM, Energy Trader or equivalent).
3. Understanding of Electrical Power Systems and the Energy Market.
4. Understanding of energy storage and renewable generation.
5. Strong people and presentation skills.
6. Able to read and write technical documents and drawings (slide decks, datasheets, SLDs, BCDs).
7. Self-motivated and organised.
It would be great if you had:
1. Ability to travel to work with partners, customers and colleagues in other offices (with a clean drivers licence).
2. Understanding of computer networks.
3. Experience in the design of electrical networks for generation plants.
4. Experience of regulatory documentation involved in the connection of generation schemes in the UK or abroad (G99, Grid Code).
5. Experience of interfacing with SCADA systems.
