We are recruiting for a nurturing and inclusive school providing support to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Their dedicated team works hard to ensure each child receives the tailored support they need to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We are seeking a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join the team and help make a difference in the lives of our students. The Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with SEMH needs in a classroom setting. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualised care, assist with learning activities, and promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being. Your role will involve building strong relationships with students and helping them develop the skills and confidence to succeed. Key Responsibilities: Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to access the curriculum and learning activities. Foster positive relationships with students, helping to build their confidence and emotional resilience. Provide support with managing behaviour and implementing individualised behaviour plans. Assist with the delivery of tailored interventions and activities aimed at promoting social and emotional development. Work alongside teaching staff to adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs of students. Monitor and record student progress, sharing information with teachers and other staff members to inform planning and support strategies. Promote a safe and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience working with children with SEMH, special educational needs, or behavioural challenges is highly desirable. A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers. A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and student needs. The ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a challenging environment. A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred, but not essential.
