The Role:
They are currently looking for a Leader in our Civil Engineering Team in their head office in Manchester City Centre. The role involves the design of both highways and drainage, with a greater emphasis on the drainage design, as this forms a greater proportion of their day work.

Responsibilities:
* Supervising multiple projects, ensuring compliance with standards, timely delivery of information, and quality of information.
* Resource planning for the team and assessing resource requirements from other teams as needed.
* Leading the team to work efficiently and effectively.
* Assisting other teams with resource support, re-planning less urgent tasks as necessary.
* Attending resource meetings and contributing positively.
* Understanding project fees, drawdown, basis of appointment, and assisting with negotiation of services and overall design responsibility.
* Reviewing and approving team’s timesheets weekly and at month-end.
* Reviewing and approving team’s holiday requests to avoid resource bottlenecks.
* Ensuring regular team meetings are held and effective communication is maintained.
* Conducting appraisals for team members and facilitating professional development.
* Engaging with performance management processes as required.
* Familiarizing oneself with company policies and advising the team as necessary.
* Creating a positive atmosphere and leading by example for team members.
* Building good relations with clients and staff.
* Seeking a leader who helps others become the best engineers they can be, offering expert technical knowledge in a clear and concise manner.
* SKILLS - (Problem Solving, Leadership, Client Relations, Communication, Resource Planning, CDM)
* Proven experience of leading a civil engineering team.
* IT literate with experience in Micro drainage, Civils 3D, and AutoCAD.
* Technically competent with an understanding of drainage and highway design fundamentals and associated construction details.
