Electronics and Systems Engineer
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electronics and Systems Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design, development, and enhancement of high-quality products within the hygiene industry. This role encompasses both new product development and in-market modifications. The successful candidate will play a key part in driving innovation, optimizing existing systems, and ensuring high standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage in the design and development of embedded systems, with hands-on programming in C/C++ (STM32, ESP32) for real-time embedded applications.
2. Develop and troubleshoot electronic schematics and hardware, ensuring designs are cost-effective and ready for manufacturing.
3. Create circuit board designs using tools like Altium and Eagle.
4. Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including requirements and specifications.
5. Support both new product development and existing product modifications, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget constraints.
6. Act as the first line of support for production issues, conducting root cause analysis and troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
7. Perform functional testing on hardware and software, creating detailed and methodical test reports.
8. Develop and execute validation tests for electronics, firmware, and software components.
9. Support Quality Assurance with fault diagnosis on product returns and quality issues, including FMEA and fault trend analysis.
10. Assist with compliance testing to meet UK and EU standards, ensuring all products maintain regulatory compliance throughout their lifecycle.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
1. Proficient in embedded systems programming with C/C++ (STM32 Cube IDE, RTOS).
2. Experience with PCB design, layout, and schematics, using tools like Altium, Eagle, and Fusion 360.
3. Strong understanding of electronic design and fault finding, down to component level.
4. Familiar with various testing techniques and electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
5. Ability to develop test specifications, quality plans, and comprehensive test reports.
6. Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Development (NPD).
7. Skilled in managing product lifecycle assessments, including validation and compliance documentation.
8. Capable of troubleshooting electronic manufacturing issues and suggesting process improvements.
