Personal Care Assistant for a young boy P/T £13.09/hr in Ashington - FTE - £25.5k Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: a4df6f08 We are looking for an experienced support worker to provide 2:1 support enabling to a 6-year-old boy who lives in the Ashington area. The support is to encourage socialisation with peers and engagement in age-appropriate activities outside of the family home. The child lives at home with his parents and three siblings. This young boy has a rare chromosome abnormality, a diagnosis of ADHD, Autism, a Learning Difficulty, a visual impairment and uses a wheelchair when out in the community. He does have a gastronomy feeding tube in situ and full training will be provided on this prior to commencement. Personal care, including toileting will be required within the role. The young boy is very active and enjoys climbing, being outside in the car and generally making a mess; as most children his age do. He does need somebody who can calm his behaviour when he becomes over excited. Two support workers are required to support him in engaging with activities such as soft play whilst ensuring his safety at all times. A car driver is not essential as there is a lot to do locally. However, if you are a car driver you should have business use insurance as a necessity. Mileage will be paid in agreement with the employer. The ideal applicant will be: · Experienced with supporting children with additional needs · Experienced with supporting non-verbal individuals or those with challenging behaviour · Able to work successfully alongside a second worker at all times · Have a calm, confident, controlled personality · Have flexibility to meet the requirements of the hours · Be proactive and able to take the lead in appropriate situations Hours Breakdown:. 3 hours term-time per week (weekend work) · Flexibility during the holidays will be required to provide the support in smaller blocks £13.09 per hour A full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate will be required and full cost will be met by the employer. Where appropriate all training will be provided including medication administration, moving & handling and safeguarding.
