The Word One to One supports the church in building confidence in the Bible for evangelism.
We are at a pivotal time in our development as a church serving ministry.
With the recent appointment of an international CEO (based in Belfast) and in response to a growing awareness of what the ministry uniquely offers, this important role will aim to build momentum in Word-based relational evangelism across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The Regional Field Manager will represent, promote and develop the Vision, Mission and Ministry of The Word One to One amongst local churches, denominational bodies, training establishments and partnership agencies within this defined geographical region.
This person leads with a passionate heart for the Gospel and its strategic purpose of God in the local church and a deep desire to listen to, serve, support and collaborate with these churches and their partners to encourage, equip and enable them to strengthen their culture of evangelism. They will demonstrate a depth of experience in local church leadership, volunteer management, effective communication, and overall competency in a range of field work disciplines.
Essential to the position:
It is a requirement of this position that the person will have received Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior; be in full agreement with The Word One to One’s Statement of Faith; and uphold the mission, vision, core values and aims of The Word One to One.
The person must have an uncompromising belief in the authority, necessity and sufficiency of Scripture in Salvation.
The person should be an equipping evangelist in line with the Ephesians 4: 11-16 model with a proven track record in equipping believers to have confidence to share their faith and in collaboration and harmony with the other gifted leaders God gives to the church. As an equipping evangelist they should have a proven track record in preaching/teaching the word of God and a capacity to clearly exegete it’s message.
Additionally, they should demonstrate:
- Alignment and support of the organisation’s strategy, priorities, and plans
- Time-management skills and the ability to cohesively plan strategic regional field work
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of and respect for people of different cultures and ethnic backgrounds
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Regional work
1) Identify and collate a clear data map of all the churches and agencies within their region then highlight those that are sympathetic to our mission drawn from all church affiliations and denominations within their geographically defined area.
2) Seek to serve these churches and agencies, by representing the ministry of The Word One to One offering and delivering them our confidence inspiring services, training and support; and for internal purposes seeking to clarify whether they are Equipping, Engaged or disengaged churches or agencies.
3) Raise up, lead and develop within the region a team of local equippers from the equipping churches/agencies to increase the growth of the ministry of The Word One to One within the region, taking responsibility for the management, encouragement and deployment of these localised equippers.
4) Connect, network with and offer support to key denominational, stream, gospel partnership or network leaders within your region seeking to serve in their key gatherings and conferences.
5) Connect, network with and offer support to any training colleges, seminaries within the region seeking to serve and engage with their trainees.
6) Personally model good practice by actively engaging the non-Christians in your life and sharing God’s Word as opportunities allow.
Contributing to the wider ministry
7) Appropriately and consistently connect church leaders, evangelism leaders and other potential volunteers to the support team (who develops and communicates central, ongoing resourcing.)
8) Help the support team tell the story of growing confidence where we see it by capturing testimonies.
9) Provide input into the development of central resourcing by providing content, insight and good practice.
10) Serve into any strategic partnerships of the Word One to One who are operational within your region or at the invitation of line management into a wider area as part of our global development.
11) Serve as the primary contact for any enquiries about our ministry from churches and ministries within the region.
12) Stay focussed – avoid distraction – say no to anything out these areas of responsibility other than retaining a strong commitment to your own local church.

Spiritual Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of the Christian faith and its doctrines and The Word One to One Statement of faith.
- Follow Matthew 18 principles in addressing issues with fellow employees (speak to the person first and if then needed raise with management).
- Ongoing commitment to personal spiritual development and ability to contribute to the development of the whole team.
- Fostering a life of prayer.
- Ongoing commitment to sharing your faith and to modelling The Word One to One as you use it with others.
- Responsible for shepherding the spiritual development of those employees whom you manage.
Working Conditions:
- This position will likely require hybrid work arrangement (with an office in Belfast)
- Support can be provided to get set up at home.
- Willingness to travel throughout the region and to attend prescribed staff gatherings in other parts of the UK when required.
Remuneration
This position is at Manager level and will pay between £35,000 and £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
Benefits include 10% employers pension contribution, life assurance (4 x salary) and critical illness cover for two years.
