Darlington Borough Council is looking to recruit a permanent Health and Safety Advisor to work in the Corporate Health and Safety Team. The Health and Safety Team are forward thinking and the council have invested in technologies to increase efficiency and improve health and safety management.

As a member of the Health and Safety Team, you will be a strong team player, self-motivated and focused on engaging the workforce to achieve high health and safety standards. Your main role will be to provide advice, guidance and support to a wide range of council services including construction, highways and environmental services.
Main responsibilities may include: the review of policies, risk assessments, training delivery, health and safety audits and inspections, contractor assessments, and incident investigations.

This opportunity will appeal to candidates seeking an opportunity to further their career in health and safety. The successful candidate should have experience in a health and safety related role or have had operational responsibility for health and safety.
To apply you will need to be confident and a good communicator with a wide and varied audience, have a flexible approach to work, be able to meet deadlines, have good IT skills.
The post offers flexible and hybrid working, from home and in the office, based at Darlington Borough Council Town Hall. The post will involve some site-based travel within the Borough of Darlington.
