Senior Early Help Practitioner
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 36 hours a week
Rate: £32 umbrella an hour (£25 PAYE an hour)
Southwark Council is looking for a Senior Early Help Practitioner to join their team with the requirement to work in the borough five days per week.
As a Senior Early Help Practitioner, you will:
1. Be expected to organize your work independently, working to agreed standards to ensure that families and children receive an excellent service.
2. Provide information, advice, guidance, and access to multi-agency family help and support services as an internal partner.
3. Work with families who may come to the attention of children's social care where a statutory social work response may be less effective or is assessed to be disproportionate to reduce the risk of significant harm.
4. Progress contacts in collaboration with MASH social workers, offering immediate help visits and making recommendations where families need an early help assessment.
5. Facilitate helping conversations that involve families in accessing the most appropriate support services.
6. Provide short-term family support plans with families in crisis situations.
Requirements:
1. Recognised and relevant academic and/or professional qualification at level 5/degree level or higher in direct work with families or have significant experience in complex whole family work.
2. Knowledge of guidance and best practice in work with 0-19 year olds and their families.
3. Experience of complex whole family direct work with children and their families within an early help context.
4. Experience within a similar role.
