SRL Traffic Systems is hiring a proactive Operative to support our busy depot in Stonehaven. Why SRL Traffic Systems? We're at the forefront of traffic management innovation, providing temporary traffic systems like portable signals, message boards, and CCTV. Our mission is to create safer, more efficient roads through sustainable solutions. What You'll Do as an Operative: As an Operative, you will be responsible for delivering, setting up, and maintaining portable traffic signals and associated equipment. You will also conduct battery exchanges, inspections, and repairs to ensure equipment is in top condition before deployment. A mobile phone, company van, and fuel card will be provided. Hours of work per week will be 42.5. Overtime will be applied on an as-needed basis, with on-call duties scheduled on a rota basis. Shift pattern: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities: Deliver and set up portable traffic lights, ensuring correct operation. Conduct battery exchanges and minor repairs at depots and customer sites. Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following health and safety guidelines. Support a safety-first culture by identifying and reporting risks. Ensure equipment is fully operational and compliant before deployment. Maintain accurate stock levels and inform the supervisor of any shortages. Keep all necessary records, including serviceability reports and customer documentation. Provide professional service and build strong relationships with customers and colleagues. Participate in training and development to enhance skills and safety awareness. Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager. What We’re Looking For: Essential: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Full UK driving licence (maximum of six points). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills and professional conduct. A safety-first mindset with adherence to company procedures. Desirable: Basic electrical fault-finding skills. Experience in highways or traffic light equipment. CSCS card holder. Competent in driving company vans up to 3.5 tonnes. Competent in towing trailers with plant equipment.
