We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 midwife to support our homebirth service for a 1 year period. The role will be to become part of a friendly, dedicated homebirth team, providing care in the home through the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period. You will hold a caseload of women for whom you will be the named midwife throughout the antenatal and postnatal period. We need individuals with a passion for individualised care and supporting choice. You will have excellent communication skills to enable the planning and implementation of individualised midwifery led care in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team. As a successful post holder, you will be required to continually provide holistic risk assessments for those choosing to birth at home, to ensure their medical, psychological and social needs are met. This dedicated homebirth team provides 24/7 cover by undertaking a mixture of day and night shifts to enable us to operate a full homebirth service. Before commencing in post, you will be supported by experienced midwives with an orientation package that is bespoke to your individual needs. You must have the flexibility provide care in the home setting. A full driving licence is required with access to a car.
