Embassy Summer, under its parent company EC English, offers award-winning summer vacation programmes for young people across multiple locations in the UK, USA, Canada, Malta, UAE & South Africa. Students learn English whilst immersing themselves in the local culture and surroundings. Our programmes are a combination of language classes, exciting excursions and fun-filled sporting, creative and social activities.
The Hall Manager is responsible for the efficient management of all facets of accommodation in Centre; this includes allocation (to regulatory standards of Welfare), damage inspections/reporting and accurate record keeping of occupants.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact
2. Maximise student and Group leader satisfaction by ensuring their experience meets or exceeds their expectations
3. To ensure the centre operates to the highest standards of relevant Health & Safety, safeguarding, HR practices
Specific duties include:
1. To meet and greet students upon arrival and to show them to their accommodation
2. To provide site tours and orientation for new staff and students
3. To establish a rota to ensure students are in their rooms and lights are out by 23.30 pm
4. To have ultimate responsibility for your hall in terms of safety and welfare duties
5. To carry out 24-hour duty on a rota basis with other managers
6. To deal with any complaints or problems relating to accommodation
7. To maintain & submit weekly records of room allocations
8. To sell travel cards to clients and keep records of all income from travel cards (UCL Only)
9. To update notice boards in the Halls and taking boards down at the end of summer
10. To report any maintenance issues to the college staff
11. To ensure damages are kept to a minimum and to follow procedures for damage that has occurred
12. To ensure that standards of cleanliness are kept up by the college reporting complaints to the Centre Manager
13. To ensure that an excellent working relationship is maintained with the university representative
14. To collect damage deposits on student arrivals
15. To carry out residential supervision duties, including meal and bedtime supervision
16. To assist with student lost key and accessing student’s rooms
Please be aware that the role may/will have different specifics suited to the needs of the specific Centre that may extend beyond these duties.
Qualifications & Training:
1. Educated to A level or equivalent (Essential)
2. Safeguarding Level 1 and 2 (Desirable)
3. Experience in a role involving organisation/logistics/travel
4. Ability to deal with complexity and resolve problems and issues
5. Ability to work under pressure, multitask, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
6. A high degree of IT competency: Outlook & MS Office (specifically Excel)
7. Excellent organisational and planning skills
8. Experience working with juniors
9. Ability to deal with and resolve complex problems and issues
10. An excellent understanding of Excel

Working Week:
6 days out of 7 (1 day off per week)
Remuneration:
Weekly pay up to: £785.00
(inclusive of holiday pay)
