About the Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be a vital part of students' journeys, helping them excel in their coursework while fostering their personal growth. In this vital role, you will work closely with a specific pupil, offering tailored assistance to ensure they can fully engage with the curriculum and school life. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for education and a commitment to making a meaningful difference in a child's academic and personal development.
Responsibilities of the 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-on-one support to a specific student, assisting with academic tasks and promoting engagement in classroom activities.
* Implement tailored strategies and interventions to support the student's individual learning needs and goals.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages the student's social, emotional and academic growth.
* Monitor and record the student's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, parents and relevant professionals.
* Assist the class teacher in developing and maintaining Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning programmes.
* Promote the student's independence and self-confidence, encouraging active participation in school activities.
* Collaborate with the wider school team to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to the student's education.
The successful candidate will:
* May have prior experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, ideally in a one-on-one capacity.
* Possess a strong understanding of individualised learning strategies and effective techniques to support diverse learning needs.
* Have good organisational abilities, strong communication and classroom management skills and the capacity to run a classroom efficiently.
* Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
