Tire Technician Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tire Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience with both power and hand tools. This role involves performing tyre installations, repairs, and maintenance while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The successful applicant will be physically fit, as the position requires heavy lifting and manual dexterity.
Responsibilities
1. Inspect tyres for wear and damage, ensuring they meet safety standards.
2. Remove and replace tyres on various vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment.
3. Balance wheels to ensure optimal performance and longevity of tyres.
4. Repair punctures and other tyre-related issues as needed.
5. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
6. Assist in inventory management by tracking tyre stock levels and reporting shortages.
7. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client queries regarding tyre care and maintenance.
Requirements
1. Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in tyre fitting or automotive repair preferred.
2. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
3. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) regularly throughout the shift.
4. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members.
6. A valid driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
