Job Description: Develop single-line diagrams and technical specifications for LVAC, LVDC, and UPS systems in onshore and offshore substations (up to 400kV) within LTS projects. Design protection and control systems for LVAC, LVDC, and UPS equipment. Conduct coordination studies and cable sizing calculations using Amtech (for LVAC) and other tools (for LVDC), delivering complete study reports. Size auxiliary transformers, diesel generators, and DC battery systems; produce related documentation and specifications. Review supplier schematics and documentation for LVAC, LVDC, and UPS systems. Define and coordinate alarm signals, control commands, and SCADA interfaces through protection schematics and control logic. Determine physical layout and dimensions of auxiliary systems for integration into primary substation layouts. Prepare engineering/test specifications, compliance matrices, design intent documents, and functional design specifications. Contribute to design risk assessments, ensuring all risks and HAZIDs are identified and mitigated in line with HSE legislation. Participate in internal and external design reviews to provide technical input and ensure design quality and consistency. Desired Characteristics Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of 5-years design experience within the Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry. Experience of Auxiliary transformer, DG, LVAC and LVDC systems. Experience of Battery and UPS systems. Experience of cable sizing Amtech software, MCB coordination, Fuse coordinatiors. Experience of BS7671 18th edition.
