The Project Engineer is responsible for applying technical expertise to create detailed and accurate quotations, including part numbers and operational hours. This role supports the tendering process by ensuring that all quotations are precise and correctly entered into the Visual ERP system, while offering problem solving and creative solutions to Customer RFQ’s. The Project Engineer also provides technical guidance to the project team, ensuring a smooth transition during the sales handover process. Additionally, ensuring all part numbers and associated costs are accurately uploaded into the Visual ERP system for effective project tracking and management.
Indicative Responsibilities Include:
1. Creation of quotations in Visual ERP software
2. Create detailed BOM (Bill of Materials) within Visual ERP, at either Quotation or if only budgetary at quotation at receipt of a customer PO.
3. Ensure the part numbers have associated costs, lead times, and vendor IDs to ensure the supply chain team can accurately purchase parts on time and on budget
4. Provide accurate and detailed sales handover to the Project team to ensure the team meet our customer’s needs (on time, on quality, on cost and in full)
5. Provide technical support to both the Sales and Project teams, making sure all project details are clearly communicated across the team.
6. Creative thinking to support customer opportunities and help win tenders. This may mean researching new technology or software solutions outside of our standard product range.
7. Collaborate with cross functional teams to problem solve and support continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Ensure that cost estimates are accurate and reflect current market rates for materials and services
9. You will be able to converse professionally with suppliers and customers to ensure detailed technical information is clearly transmitted from our customers and to our suppliers or internal colleagues
10. Attend onsite client meetings to agree scope, feasibility and areas of improvement
Experience, Education & License Requirements:
1. Good technical understanding of lighting, visual displays and creative media solutions
2. Hands on experience installing lighting, visual displays and creative media solutions
3. Experience with the creation of technical quotations
4. Experience with ERP systems (in particular Infor Visual) is desirable
5. Confident in the use of Microsoft office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
6. Experience working with varied teams across multiple departments
