East King Street Children’s House is a purpose-built children’s house situated in Helensburgh and is registered as a 6 bedded house for children and young people who have experienced trauma and adversity. The house has a very motivated, person centred team of practitioners who are trauma informed and trained in Crisis Prevention. East King Street is one of three residential houses in Argyll and Bute with the three managers supporting each other remotely and being managed externally by the residential resources manager. This role ensures that children and young people in Argyll and Bute can be kept safe, receive unconditional positive regard and live and grow in a nurturing environment where their needs are met by a dedicated team of skilled residential practitioners. You will support the manager in the day to day running of the house whilst assisting in policy implementation and delivering a high standard of care.
The applicant should have least two years’ experience within a residential child care setting and should bring something new and progressive to the role. Essential qualifications include HNC in Social Care as well as SVQ 3 and willingness to gain SVQ 4 in health and social care. The house manager will lead with support from the seniors the residential team in excellent collaborative practice with the families, schools, social work area teams, care experienced CAHMS service, health, police, advocacy workers and all others who form part of the team around the child/young person. The applicant should have a professional knowledge and understanding of the National health and social care standards and be able to form and maintain a professional relationship with the staff team and external stakeholders always ensuring compliance with requirements. It is essential that the applicant holds a current driving license.
