Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 37.5 hour per week post for a band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse or OT within Portsmouth Early Intervention in Psychosis Team. The team currently cover the age range of 14 to 65 years of age. It operates on the 14 day referral to treatment model for first episodes in psychosis. You should have a Registered Mental Health Nurse/OT registration/qualification, good written and verbal communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate an understanding of mental health issues with experience of dealing with emotional distress. You will be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of care including working/liaising with multi-disciplinary teams and other agencies in the provision of care and have the ability to engage service users and relatives with empathy and compassion. The successful candidate will have a caseload of service users that they are responsible for. The team is multidisciplinary comprising of Nurses, OT, psychologist's and psychiatrists. There are regular opportunities for further training including Family Intervention and CBTp. To provide interventions for those experiencing a First Episode of Psychosis (FEP) who can benefit from specialist interventions, and who meet the criteria on referral. Main duties of the job To work as a member of the integrated Early Intervention in Psychosis Team in Portsmouth City providing a service to people experiencing a First Episode of Psychosis (FEP) To effectively co-ordinate the care of a complex caseload of service users experiencing a FEP and offer a NICE concordant package of care. To provide recovery focussed therapeutic interventions in line with the agreed care plan and risk assessment. To assess risk, develop risk management plans, review, and adjust in line with the service user's needs. To work in collaboration with service users as experts in their own care, promoting the principles of recovery, choice and personalisation, which value and empower the service user.
