Job Title: Poly Sewer & Plant Floater
Level: 1
Shift: 1st shift (Monday-Thursday 6am-3pm, Friday 6am-12pm)
Pay: $21.50/hr
Job Description/Key Responsibilities
1. Primary task is to cut material for and sew various types of poly filters using a variety of sewing machines.
2. Secondary task is to prepare cartons and package the completed filters; ensure that what the labels say is in the carton matches what is actually in the carton.
3. Learn the different types of polyester media - their colors, efficiencies, & thicknesses.
4. Help train new employees as needed.
5. Cross-train on other jobs within the department as required, including operating an electric hot wire cutter.
6. Cross-train on other plant positions as required.
7. Keep work areas clean & organized.
8. Participate in departmental & plant Lean projects.
9. Be flexible to changes in organizational and departmental procedures.
10. Comply with safety policies including wearing required PPE.
11. Be aware of LOCK-OUT/TAG-OUT, recognize LOTO-situations, & understand general LOTO.
12. Review the Best Work Practices (BWPs) of the jobs/positions on which trained or cross-trained.
