The Procurement Specialist will report to the Category Manager and is responsible for delivering end-to-end procurement projects for Goods, Services, and Works. The successful candidate will support the procurement team through professional delivery, customer service, and teamwork, ensuring value for money outcomes, supplier performance, and continuous improvement in procurement practices. The role demands a meticulous and considered approach to procurement, working within business guidelines and industry best practice to gather and analyse market intelligence, shape procurement strategies, deliver cost savings and sustainable outcomes, whilst ensuring measures are in place to manage commercial and contractual risk. You will do this by working collaboratively with colleagues across the business and effective utilisation of eProcurement systems and processes and systems. What you’ll be responsible for Contribute to the development of procurement and category strategies designed to deliver cost and process efficiencies across areas within the category of professional and enabling services, and others as may be required. Execute procurements of moderate complexity, including regulated and non-regulated processes, using Welsh Water internal procedures and in accordance with delegation levels. Manage and support a defined stakeholder group and act as a procurement partner for designated business areas. Negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers to ensure added value, savings, total cost management, quality, risk management and surety of supply. Create added value opportunities for increased social and sustainable benefit in line with our sustainable supplier code. Contribute to the delivery of best practice procurement across the Welsh Water organisation. Report on category, supplier and business spend, internal customer engagement with procurement, and commercial risk. Utilise Welsh Water's eProcurement systems for procurement and supplier management. Use of robust data management practices to maintain high standards of data quality and integrity.
