The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term/long-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students continue their learning in a supportive and controlled environment. This role is crucial in maintaining continuity of education and managing classroom behavior effectively. Key Responsibilities: Classroom Supervision: Supervise students in the classroom, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher. Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and instructions left by the absent teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task. Behavior Management: Implement the school's behavior management policy to maintain discipline and address any issues that arise during the lesson. Student Engagement: Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging student participation and engagement with the lesson material. Administrative Tasks: Complete any necessary administrative tasks related to the supervision of classes, including attendance recording and reporting on lesson outcomes. Support Learning: Assist students with their learning as necessary, answering questions and providing guidance on the tasks set. Communication: Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians regarding any issues or concerns that arise during the lesson. Flexibility: Adapt to different subjects and year groups as required, demonstrating versatility and a willingness to cover a variety of classes. Classroom Setup: Prepare the classroom for lessons, ensuring that resources and materials are available and organized. Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance supervisory skills and stay updated with educational practices.
