The NHS England Commercial & Procurement Hub has been delivering high priority, fast-paced national programmes for 9 years, stepping into rapid delivery to support NHS England teams in delivering national transformation programmes in digital primary care. We are an integral part of the NHS England Digital Primary Care Team, supporting them directly in their responsibilities and objectives.
Main Duties of the Job
We are now able to offer a range of procurement roles suited to motivated individuals who want to be part of a successful team delivering for the NHS, making a real impact on patients and systems.
The Hub's role is to support the delivery of NHS England programmes to digitise primary care, improving access for patients as laid down in the NHS England Modern General Practice Model and the Delivery Plan for Recovering Access to Primary Care.
We provide a free-to-use service for customers, including approximately 6,300 general practices, all 41 Integrated Care Boards, and all 7 Regions within NHS England, representing the whole country. Our work impacts wider system partners as systems join together to support patients through their entire healthcare journey.

Job Responsibilities

Education
* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in a similar specialist area.
* Postgraduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent.
* Formal CIPS membership or Level 4 NVQ in procurement.
Knowledge & Experience
* Foundation course in Prince2 project management.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
* Experience of managing and reporting risks.
* Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at Executive level.
* Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures.
* Evidence of success in efficient project management, ensuring delivery within financial targets.
* Experience and skills in using Microsoft Project.

* Ability to communicate on behalf of the Deputy Director of Procurement or Senior Procurement Manager on various issues relating to the procurement of goods and services.
* Able to draft briefing papers and correspondence at Executive level.
* Ability to liaise with specialists such as clinical subject matter experts, Legal, and HR to ensure compliance with current legislation and clinical standards.
* Experience of managing a team without direct line management.
* Capability to plan over short, medium, and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
