A bit about the role We are looking for a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our team working across two of our newest residential services in Chesterfield and Kilburn (Belper). You’ll play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our services, ensuring that all administrative tasks are handled efficiently and with attention to detail. You will support the staff team in maintaining files and records, ensuring that information is kept up-to-date and raising awareness of any updates required. you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, including raising purchase orders, managing/monitoring the spend on company P cards, and handling petty cash. Strong literacy and spoken communication skills are essential as you will be interacting with staff, agency workers and stakeholders to ensure clear and effective information flow. As Administrative Assistant your role is to ensure the smooth clerical operations across both locations, the homes are approximately 20 minutes’ commute from each other and your time will be split working at both locations. About the services At Action for Children, we are excited to introduce our two new residential services designed to provide exceptional care for children. The first home you will work with is dedicated to supporting children with physical disability aged 5-18 years, offering a nurturing and inclusive environment tailored to the children's unique needs. The second home focuses on providing trauma informed care for children aged 5-18 years who have experienced challenging life experiences, ensuring they receive the support and understanding for their healing journey. Both homes have been renovated to a high specification, creating a comfortable and welcoming space for children and staff. We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first children to their new homes where they will benefit from our dedicated staff who are focused on their growth and care. How you'll help to create brighter futures Act intuitively, professionally, confidently and implement a sensitive approach to your work. Undertake desktop research on behalf of colleagues and management to enable the completion of specific reports. Produce presentations, written and financial reports for management, including formatting of information and data. Communicate effectively and strive to deliver a high standard of customer service. Show a willingness to learn new processes and demonstrate good practice to others. Let's talk about you. Experience of working independently to plan and manage your own workload to meet organisational deadlines and shared goals, will be essential. Business Administration S/NVQ Level 2 desirable or work-related experience. Confident communicator with the ability to deliver and manage basic written and oral communication effectively. A high understanding of Microsoft package specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. Good attention to detail, highly organised and adaptable to accommodate the needs of the service.
