Outpatient Spinal Physiotherapist Band 7
We are looking for a Band 7 MSK Physiotherapist who has proven skills in the management of patients with complex MSK spinal pain and dysfunction including post-operative rehabilitation.
The post holder will support the consultant physiotherapist (spinal) in service delivery, assisting in the development and integration of MSK patient management across the service.

Main duties of the job
The MDT team includes a consultant physiotherapist, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, and a large team of spinal surgeons.
This offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your own skills and those of the staff within the unit you mentor in a supportive, friendly, and learning environment.
The service is situated within the Oxford Spinal Unit and physiotherapy department at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
The post holder will manage patients referred to the Oxford Spinal Unit and Physiotherapy Departments for initial contact, assessment, clinical diagnosis, and management.
The post holder must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to teach, lead, mentor, and develop senior and more junior staff and students.
The department offers you a chance to work with staff who have a wide range of experience; you will be supported to be actively involved in the development and integration of the service, advancing your clinical, teaching, managerial, and research skills.
You must have a Post Graduate Masters level degree with recent post-graduate courses relevant to musculoskeletal therapy.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To act as a band 7 physiotherapy practitioner within the Oxford Spinal Unit and Outpatient Physiotherapy Departments.
To use advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to physiotherapy and other clinical staff whilst maintaining a caseload of highly complex patients as an autonomous practitioner.
To manage highly complex patients referred to the Oxford Spinal Unit and Outpatient Physiotherapy Departments for initial contact, assessment, clinical diagnosis, and management.
To contribute to the development of the service in conjunction with the Consultant Physiotherapist, Outpatient Physiotherapy Team Leader, and Head of Therapies.
To contribute to the mentoring and development of senior staff.
In conjunction with the Director of Physiotherapy research, to promote evaluation and research within the service.
