Children North East is a large North East based children's charity that works across the region, with some work extending across England, Wales and Scotland. We exist because growing up can be hard. Children North East require a Mental Health Youth Worker to support the delivery of group work and 1:1 support of young people who experience SEND and/or neurodiversity. The successful candidates will be instrumental in providing young people support either within groups or through 1-1 sessions that will help them to understand their neurodiversity and meet their personal goals.
The successful candidate will support with the delivery of a variety of peer support and psycho-educational groups and 1-1 work in Gateshead and Newcastle with the potential of working more widely across the region for example North Tyneside, Northumberland and County Durham. Groups are typically delivered between 3 - 7pm, and the ability and willingness to travel to different locations and work in the evenings is essential for this role.
The successful candidates will have experience of working with young people, preferably including young people who are neurodivergent or have special educational needs, and hold or be willing to work towards a young people's mental health qualification.
This role is £24,843 to £27,369 per annum, pro-rated for 30 hours per week.
