A rareand exciting opportunity has arisen to join Herefordshire Community LearningDisability Teams as a Band 6 based at Liverpool Court, Commercial Road,Hereford.
The successfulapplicant will provide assessment, diagnosis and develop bespoke therapy for acaseload of service users with a learning disability with complex needs, usingevidence based/ client centred principles and delivered in accordance with HCPCand College of Occupational Therapy (COT) requirements.
You will be joining asmall but tenacious Multi-Disciplinary team who are all committed to ensuring thatthe physical and mental health, communication and occupational needs ofindividuals with a learning disability are equitably met.
TheOccupational Therapy Team across Herefordshire and Worcestershire areinnovative in their service delivery using a mix of face-to-face visits, remoteworking, and social media to support services users. We meet regularly to offerpeer support and look at clinical/service issues, developing resources andregular CPD through journal club, training sessions and face to face away days.
You will receiveregular individual and group supervision, training, and support within thisrole to help transfer your skills and developcompetencies in this specialist field.
Main duties of the job
Manage a caseload of service users with complex needs, usingevidence based/ client centred principles.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Participate in the planning, development and evaluation ofOccupational Therapy Services. Provide outcomes for the service and serviceusers by using agreed tools/assessments.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the TrustOccupational Therapy Service. Ensure OT provision is delivered in accordancewith HCPC and College of Occupational Therapy (COT) requirements.

Job responsibilities
Hold a caseload; this will include those people with complexOccupational Therapy needs.
For people on their caseload, to be responsible for the wholeprocess of assessment, care planning, monitoring and review.
Act as an experiencedmember of the CLDT in relation to risk assessment giving advice and directionas required.
Contribute to Continuing Healthcare Assessments.
Monitor, evaluate and modify interventions in order to measureprogress and ensure effectiveness.
Provide education, consultation and advice to care settingsand day activity placements.
Have knowledge of legislation pertaining to LearningDisabilities eg mental capacity Act, Best Interest, Valuing People, death by indifference.
Carry out complex risk assessment involving wide consultationand collaboration.
Able to carry out a moderatephysical effort throughout the working day.
Be required to work withpeople who have needs around challenging behaviour
Be required to carry out complex assessments and interventionsin difficult circumstances,, poor environmental conditions, or at timeswhen service users' behaviour is unpredictable.
Be required to deliver complex and sensitiveinformation/messages to service users, carers and families.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
2. Post graduate training in relevant field, especially Sensory Processing Disorder
3. HCPC registration
4. I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer

5. Qualification approved by the Sensory Integration Network in Sensory Processing Disorder
