One side is the Holiday Inn London Heathrow Express featuring 457 bedrooms, an express bar and café, offering all-day dining with simple, honest food, and a lively bar. The other side is the upscale Crowne Plaza London-Heathrow Hotel with 304 elegant bedrooms, 13 suites and 4 high-tech meeting rooms. The hotel boasts a variety of exciting food and beverage outlets, including a Club Lounge and offers a 24-hour fitness studio. It has ample parking for both guests and employees.
A bit about what you will do...
The Chief Engineer in our hotel leads from the front and takes a proactive, hands-on approach, overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards are maintained throughout, creating a welcoming and safe environment that consistently exceeds guests expectations.
* Lead and coordinate the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services.
* Prepare and monitor the annual departmental operating budget, with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance and capital planning.
* Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion within budget.
* Manage Health & Safety, including statutory compliance, risk assessment, permits to work and safe working practices.
* Address any guest concerns promptly, attentively and efficiently.
* Liaise closely with other hotel departments and wider management team to support the continual improvement of property maintenance standards.
* Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and supporting green initiatives.
* Act as property leader for the brands Green Engage program.
* Coach, train, and support the team to provide consistently high standards while continually looking to improve.
* Perform Duty Manager shifts as required.

* Strong leadership skills with proven experience to manage a team.
* Clear and influential communicator with the ability to interact across all levels.
* Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of budgeting and cost control.
* Proven experience to lead a green initiative for a large hotel.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
* Proven experience in managing, coaching, challenging and developing teams.
* Approachable and positive manner with a can do attitude.
* A smart and professional appearance.
* Ability to use initiative in challenging situations and under pressure.
* Proven track record of hotel experience in a similar position.
* Recognised electrical or engineering qualification and specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
* Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
* Strong knowledge of the operation, control and maintenance of building services plant and systems.
* Previous experience using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
* High standard of English, both written and spoken.
