The Flavour Network has partnered with a leading UK butchery to recruit a Skilled Butcher on a permanent, full-time basis. As a Skilled Butcher, you will be responsible for expertly preparing and cutting high-quality meat, ensuring safety, quality, and sustainability in line with the company’s core values of care, respect, and ambition. Responsibilities for the Skilled Butcher:

Prepare and cut meat to the highest standards and specifications, ensuring consistency and quality in all products.

Inspect, clean, and maintain cutting tools and equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance.

Manage stock rotation, minimize waste, and ensure efficient use of resources.

Continuously improve service, quality, and teamwork, while adhering to Health & Safety and Food Hygiene policies.

Mentor and guide junior butchers, fostering their development and ensuring high standards of work.
*
Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
*
Monitor machinery performance and troubleshoot any issues to prevent downtime and maintain output quality.

Implement preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
*
Adapt to changing business needs, supporting other areas of the business as required.

Take personal responsibility for your duties, actively contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements for the Skilled Butcher:

3 Years minimum experience in butchery or similar role is essential
*
Multi species experience is desirable.
*
Level 1 Food Safety Award or equivalent.
*
Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices in food production environments.
*
Experience with meat preparation equipment and cutting techniques.
*
Basic proficiency in English for communication with colleagues.
*
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
*
Attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
*
Ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
*
Passion for butchery and a desire to continually develop skills within the field
