Your new role
National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Business Services Manager to join our team based in Bedford. As a Business Services Manager, you will manage the effective delivery of business support and administrative services for the region, championing continuous improvement, and sharing best practice with other relevant functions throughout the organisation.
The role will be worked on a hybrid basis with 40% in the office and 60% working from home.
What you’ll be leading on
1. Identify and assess the administrative support requirements of the region, ensuring there is appropriate allocation of resources to meet these.
2. Ensure that all customers facing administration, such as responding to enquiries, correspondence, and scheme related communications materials are delivered in a timely and professional manner,
3. Produce reports, presentations, and other documents, collating and analysing relevant information and statistics from identified sources to support others.
4. Monitor the performance of the team, ensuring all line management responsibilities are fulfilled.
5. Ensure the region’s fleet and equipment related administration duties are clearly understood and appropriately discharged.
To be successful you’ll need
6. Previous experience of managing successful teams in a shared business service environment.
7. Evidence of working in a customer service background with excellent communication skills.
8. Excellent organisational skills as well as stakeholder management skills with a strong customer focus.
9. Service delivery experience in a shared services or business services environment is desirable.
10. Experience with standard office software products to enable production and maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets.
11. Understanding of the relevant departmental and company-wide procedures, policies, and guidelines.
