Based in Uckfield with one day working from home per week.
Fixed term until November 2025 with possible extension or permanency
We require a dynamic Retirement Living Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running at Wealden's Retirement Living Court in Uckfield. The post-holder will look after the interests and wellbeing of residents, encourage residents to make full use of the communal facilities and deal with any emergencies that may arise, as well as provide some cover at other courts.
You should have good interpersonal, administrative and communication skills and previous experience of working in a similar community or social service environment, along with knowledge of issues relating to the support of older and vulnerable people. You should be comfortable working as part of a dispersed Team, managing the Court independently with support.
You will be socially outgoing and able to demonstrate the level of competence and care required to support the residents, ideally along with some experience of tenant management and tenant support planning. In addition, you should have the flexibility to attend any out of hours emergencies which may occasionally arise at any Court, for which remuneration will be provided. You will also need to have experience of using email and MS Office packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel. An understanding of social housing in England would be an advantage.
We offer an excellent package, including competitive salary, career progression scheme, career average salary pension scheme, an employee benefit scheme offering a range of discounts and salary sacrifice schemes, and discounted leisure centre membership.
Wealden District Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
