We’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team. Our volunteers collectively contribute thousands of hours to policing every year, bringing their talent, skills, advice, experience, support, enthusiasm and more. Our Volunteering Team works across different areas of policing to provide the best possible support to our volunteers, ensuring they are fully integrated and valued by their teams. Flexible working and/or job sharing are possible for this role. The position attracts an unsocial hours payment as there is a requirement to work evenings and weekends. Typically, this involves one evening each week during term time and an average of one weekend day each month. Key Responsibilities You will provide coordination and administrative support across all our long-term volunteering roles. You will also help develop and support our short-term volunteering opportunities such as work experience and student placements. Welcoming volunteers into the force Acting as a point of contact for volunteers, internal and external stakeholders/partners Organising, attending and supporting events for volunteers Interviewing and assessing volunteer and placement applicants Managing outlook mailboxes and data within systems/spreadsheets You can find out more about the specific responsibilities within the role profile attached below. Skills & Experience We are looking for an individual who understands and recognises the value of volunteering. Previous experience of working with volunteers and/or young people would be beneficial, but this is not essential. We will teach you everything you need to know to succeed in this role, but you need to be experienced in administration and confident in the use of all Microsoft Office programmes. A flexible and positive approach will enable you to support the team and our volunteers whenever necessary. Great communication skills are essential, and you should be comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders/partners. Our messaging is key; you will develop material to attract volunteers and promote their contribution to the force.
