This is a growing, modern and recognisable multinational merchandising business based in Manchester, who are looking for a VAT analyst to join their in-house tax team. The business partners with a range of large, global brands and assists with logistics, marketing, sustainability and account management - offering a bespoke range of services and support to their client base. Your new role
This role will see you handle VAT matters for the business, whilst working as part of the Indirect Tax team, and the wider UK tax function. Training and extensive support will be provided. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Assist timely preparation and submission of VAT returns across the European entities, to include submission of the UK return and co-ordination of submission by third party advisers for other European returns. Coordinate data input and manage master data accordingly.
2. Assist with corporation tax returns when required.
3. Prepare and manage VAT returns and payments.
4. Identify new ways to streamline existing processes and improve efficiency.
5. Assist with VAT registrations and de-registrations across various jurisdictions.
6. Taking a lead on cash management. Monitoring VAT payments and refunds.
7. Reconciliation of VAT related balance sheet accounts, including providing accurate summaries and timely resolutions.
What you'll need to succeed
This role is ideal for you if you have gained some knowledge and understanding of VAT, ideally from working within an in-house VAT role, although first-time practice movers will be considered too. You must have a good knowledge of IT systems such as Excel. The role is ideal for someone looking to progress in their career within a global business, and take on an interesting, complex workload.

The role will see you working as part of a large in-house tax team, led by a senior Head of Tax who can offer excellent training and guidance. The role offers hybrid working too (2 days maximum in the office each week), and early finishes on Friday.
